OVERVIEW
- BrightDrop is a subsidiary of General Motors (GM) focused on providing electric delivery and logistics solutions. It was launched in January 2021 as part of GM's efforts to enter the electric vehicle (EV) market and address the growing demand for sustainable transportation solutions.
- BrightDrop's mission is to decarbonize the last mile through smarter, safer, and more efficient ways of delivering goods and services.
- To achieve this mission, they not only needed to produce innovative delivery vehicles but also leverage data to help make deliveries smarter, safer, and more efficient.
- BrightDrop approached People Tech to develop an Analytics Platform that will serve its needs now and well into the future.
SOLUTION PROVIDED BY PEOPLE TECH GROUP
- The underpinnings of the platform are Azure Cloud and Data Platform including Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft’s latest Analytics platform.
- The scope of our initiative was to establish a Landing Zone environment on BrightDrop’s Azure Cloud and connecting a data pipeline from BrightDrop’s ERP systems (S/4Hana, Salesforce, Dealer Management).
- Script the buildout of the environments with Terraform.
RESULTS
- Modern Analytic Solutions: BrightDrop has a Cloud-based data lake that can be used to develop innovative analytic solutions to run their business and provide added value to their customers.
- Operational Efficiency: This new platform enables the business teams to drive operational efficiency and automation by using AI and Machine Learning solutions for various use cases including use of unstructured data from audio/video, third party sources and the building of a unified customer view across various products and business lines.
