SUMMARY
People Tech upgraded PeopleSoft HCM from 8.9 to 9.2. & PeopleTools 8.49 to 8.53. We engaged in Kronos support in QA and provided functional and technical support including Capital Projects.
We supported in the implementation phase during data conversion, integrations, and reports. We built the batch framework to provide a single source for all the third-party applications and vendors.
1. Workday Scope/ Config/ Validation
OVERVIEW
- The client’s current legacy systems processes were manual and relied on trouble ticket system to intake requests and route to HR Services for support.
- Their legacy systems and their lack of seamless integrations resulted in lack of scalability.
- Employees had to sign into multiple systems just to view their pay slip and their compensation. Now, employees can log into Workday to see pay slips and compensation all in one place.
- The client’s current systems couldn’t be accessed by smartphones or any off-network device.
- Current HCM system, PeopleSoft, was the source of several pain points for the HR organization:
- Lack of effective workflow tooling.
- Non-intuitive employee and manager self-service.
- Limited view into organizational hierarchies.
- Inability to manage policy and process automation without customization.

- The Workday implementation helped in addressing the above pain points.
- People Tech Group proposed the following solution:
- Workday products will be hosted on AWS, allowing us to benefit from the security and performance of the AWS cloud.
- By moving core HR systems to the cloud and using Workday, we now provide self-service access to our core HR systems on and off network from the mobile and other devices.
- Continue to decouple core applications from existing PeopleSoft HCM implementation or build around it to close functional and usability gaps.

2. Workday Integrations/ Reports/ BIF
OVERVIEW
- Client needed a solutioning partner to transform their business logic from HR system like PeopleSoft to BIF which interacts with upstream system like PS, performs a comparative study of the data transforms data to S3 bucket which is consumed by the 3rd party vendors.
- Needs to transform and provide data in the required interface format to downstream systems(vendors) using Batch Integration Framework (Java 8 & AWS services).
SOLUTION PROVIDED BY PEOPLE TECH GROUP
- Facilitated in decoupling integrations from PeopleSoft and rebuilt them in Batch Integration Framework (BIF) using AWS (Athena, Cloud-watch, cloud formation, DynamoDb, Batch, Key management service, IAM, EC2, and S3 bucket).​
- It enabled to automate the payroll batch process and generate the required files in the specified formats as per vendor requirements.
- This helped in transforming business logic from PeopleSoft to BIF and build People data store.
